What happens during the free consultation?

The free 15-minute consultation is a low-pressure conversation — no commitment required. It's a chance for you to share a little about what's bringing you to therapy, ask any questions you have, and get a feel for whether we'd be a good fit. I'll share a bit about how I work and what to expect. If it feels right, we'll schedule your first session.

How do I get started?

The easiest first step is to reach out through the contact form or schedule a free 15-minute consultation. From there, we'll connect, talk through what you're looking for, and set up your first appointment. There's no pressure and no commitment — just a conversation.

What if I'm not sure what type of therapy I need?

That's completely okay — most people aren't sure when they first reach out. During our free consultation, we'll talk through what's going on for you and I'll help you figure out whether individual therapy, couples therapy makes the most sense. You don't need to have it figured out before you call.

What is therapy and how can it help me?

Therapy is a collaborative process where you work with a trained therapist to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It provides a safe, confidential space to address challenges, build coping skills, and create meaningful change in your life.

How often will we meet?

Most clients meet weekly, especially at the start of therapy when we're building momentum and trust. As you progress, we may shift to every other week or a maintenance schedule — whatever fits your needs and goals. We'll talk through what makes sense for you.

How long does therapy typically take?

The length of therapy varies depending on your goals and needs. Some people benefit from short-term therapy (8–12 sessions), while others prefer ongoing support. I'll discuss what feels right for you during your initial consultation.

How does couples therapy work?

Couples therapy sessions involve both partners meeting together with me. We'll explore communication patterns, relationship dynamics, and the specific challenges you're facing. I use evidence-based approaches to help you build healthier ways of connecting, resolving conflict, and supporting each other. Sessions are a space for both of you to feel heard — not a place to assign blame.

Do both partners need to attend couples therapy?

In most cases, yes — couples therapy is most effective when both partners participate. That said, if your partner isn't ready or willing to attend, individual therapy can still be a powerful way to work on relationship patterns and your own growth. Reach out and we can talk through what might work best for your situation.

Do you accept insurance?

I'm in-network with several major insurance plans and networks, including: Aetna (Including Meritain, Allied Benefit Systems, Luminare Health, HealthScope, Christian Brothers Services, EVHC, and other Aetna-administered plans.); Cigna (Including Allied Benefit Systems, Luminare Health, Trustmark Health Benefits, EVHC, and other Cigna-administered plans.); UnitedHealthcare (Including Optum, Oxford Health Plans, UMR, AllSavers, Surest, UnitedHealthcare Student Resources, UnitedHealthcare Shared Services, UnitedHealthcare Global, and select Optum EAP programs.); Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Connecticut; Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts; Carelon Behavioral Health. I also participate with additional plans and programs, including Centivo, GEHA, Nippon, Oscar, Sutter Health Plan, and others. How much does therapy cost?

Session fees vary based on the type and length of service. A 60-minute intake session for individuals and couples is $220. Ongoing 55-minute individual sessions are $150, and 55-minute couples sessions are $180. If you're using insurance, your cost will depend on your specific plan, deductible, and copay or coinsurance. What states can you provide therapy in?

I'm licensed to provide therapy via telehealth in Connecticut, Vermont, and Florida. If you're located in one of those states, we're able to work together regardless of where you are within the state.

Do you offer in-person sessions?

Accepted Answer

At this time, I offer therapy exclusively via telehealth. Sessions are conducted over a secure video platform, which means you can connect from anywhere in Connecticut, Vermont, or Florida — no commute required. Many clients find telehealth just as effective as in-person therapy, and often more convenient.

Do you offer telehealth sessions?

Yes, all sessions are conducted via telehealth. I work with individuals and couples in Connecticut, Vermont, and Florida. This allows you to access therapy from the comfort of your home while maintaining the same quality of care and confidentiality.
